Welcome!

I’m Daile Unruh-Peters, a practical theologian and spiritual formation guide. My work is shaped by a conviction that formation continues across a lifetime. We are still becoming, still being invited into greater spaciousness, and still discovering what our lives have to offer.

I have come to imagine spiritual formation as a glade: a spacious place within the larger landscape of our lives where there is room to notice, to listen, and to become attentive to the invitations of God. A glade offers both shelter and openness. It can be a threshold between where we have been and what lies beyond. There is room to stand firmly, room for something new to grow, and an opening toward a wider horizon.

This is the kind of space I hope to cultivate through spiritual direction, supervision, retreats, group work, and writing. My particular attention is increasingly drawn toward women in olderhood, spiritual authority formed across a lifetime, and what it might mean for the Church to become more spacious. I explore many of these questions in my writing at Capacious.
