Spiritual Direction is a relationship in which a director accompanies a directee as they seek to discern and know in a more intimate way the movement and activity of God in their lives. The focus of the conversation is a three-part encounter between Jesus (as revealed today by the Spirit), the directee, and the spiritual director; with the purpose being that the directee recognizes the invitation to grow in their relationship with God.
​A spiritual director bases their presence with others on three convictions:
  • one, that God is always doing something in their life;
  • two, that there is guidance available for responding to Christ through centuries of accumulated wisdom, and reflection on God's revelation; and
  • three, that every soul is unique and functioning within specific, personal circumstances and situations.

As a spiritual director I use a variety of tools -
journaling, reading and/or visualizing scripture (Lectio / Visio Divina),
life story work, meditation, silence and prayer, etc.

This longing to know God's personal words for you and to ask for personal revelation from God to you is a core element of Spiritual Direction.

This desire to know, longing for connection and  revelation is discovered through listening well.

What are the benefits of meeting regularly with a spiritual director?
There are many benefits to meeting regularly with a Spiritual Director. Here are three:
  • First, spiritual direction promotes spiritual attentiveness. As I sit with directees I often find myself asking directees to reflect on questions such as: 'what do you think God is doing in that circumstance?'; 'where do you notice God's activity in your life?'; 'what do you feel or sense God's invitation is for you in this place?'
  • Second, spiritual direction grows discernment. At the core of spiritual formation is the development of a dependent, willing heart to follow Jesus. But we often do not have the ability to discern where Jesus is inviting, directing or calling us. As a spiritual director I offer a place to discern direction, calling and invitation in the presence of the Spirit. As we talk, listen and notice together we trust that we will begin to see the fingerprints of God in your life. 
  • Third, spiritual direction identifies and gives room to ask the most important questions in our lives. Spiritual direction is a place where questions are invited and can be asked, reflected on, processed, refined and brought into God’s presence. I love good questions and am willing to journey with directees as God reveals and provides answers to the myriad of questions that are on their minds and hearts, providing a place to honestly explore these thoughts with God.
What does a session look like?
We will often start with an invitation from scripture, and a question that invites you to reflect on your spiritual life over the past period of time. This beginning will set the stage for your stories to emerge, and to consider what God's invitation is to you in and through these stories. From there I will follow your lead. Together we will listen to the whispers of the spirit within your soul. ​
How Will we meet?
Most often spiritual direction happens online. ​
How OFten?
We can meet as often as you like, depending on your need.

It is common to meet monthly or bi-weekly.  
How Long is a session?
Each session is 50 minutes long.
​What is the cost?
Each session is $60.  

If there is a need, I am open to discussing a sliding scale.
